The American people want judges and justices on the bench who will dutifully interpret the law — distinguished legal minds and devoted public servants who will help implement, not make, political decisions, and who know the difference between personal opinion and professional duty.

Elizabeth A. Harvey

Elizabeth A. Harvey, a litigation attorney with Ulmer & Berne LLP, concentrates in appellate and critical-motion practice where she serves her clients by giving judges the uncomplicated keys to unlock complex legal issues. She also has experience “behind” the appellate bench, writing memoranda and drafting proposed opinions for judges of the Michigan Court of Appeals and Judge Anne L. Kilbane (deceased) of the Cuyahoga County Court of Appeals, Ohio’s Eighth Appellate District. Elizabeth currently serves on the Appellate Law Specialty Certification Board of the Ohio State Bar Association, and she previously served the Supreme Court of Ohio on the Board of Bar Examiners.

Judge Dick Ambrose

Dick Ambrose has been serving as Judge of the General Division of the Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas since June 2004. In November 2006, voters elected Judge Ambrose by an overwhelming margin to retain his seat on the Common Pleas bench. Judge Ambrose presides over both civil and criminal matters, including six death penalty cases. Judge Ambrose has been active in the community as well, assisting with the Court’s Fugitive Safe Surrender Program as well as speaking to church and community groups about the particulars of Ohio’s record sealing law.

Michael Astrab

Mike Astrab was sworn in as a practicing attorney on November 10, 1997. He immediately thereafter took the initiative to open his own private practice and soon developed a strong concentration in criminal defense and juvenile law. He has practiced before Common Pleas courts in Cuyahoga, Medina, Lake, Lorain and Ashland Counties, focusing on the defense of felony charges.

Bernadette Marshall

Bernadette Marshall has practiced Domestic Relations Law for 25 years including 5 years as a Domestic Relations Magistrate in the Cuyahoga County courthouse. She has been an associate, a partner in a downtown prestigious law firm and, most recently, a solo practitioner. In addition to her law degree, Bernadette Marshall has a master’s degree in public administration.
